Sinoć se održala 95. dodjela nagrada Akademije čiji je domaćin po treći put bio Jimmy Kimmel. Film koji je apsolutno izdominirao večeri je „Everything Everywhere All at Once“ studija A24 koji je odnio čak sedam Oscara od jedanaest nominacija, uključivši Oscara za najbolji film. Briljirali je i glumačka postava filma pa je tako zlatnog kipića za najbolju glumicu osvojila Michelle Yeoh te tako postala prva Azijatkinja koja je osvojila nagradu Akademije u ovoj kategoriji. Uz Yeoh, zlatni kipić su kući odnijeli i Ke Huy Quan za najboljeg sporednog glumca, Dan Kwan i Daniel Schneiert za najbolje redatelje te Jamie Lee Curtis za najbolju sporednu glumicu, što je ujedni i njezin prvi Oscar. Sve u svemu, „Everything Everywhere All at Once“ bio je apsolutni dobitnik večeri.
No, sa sinoćnjom dodjelom smo dobili još ugodnih iznenađenja i velikih pojednika večeri. Najveći comeback dao nam je glumac Brendan Fraser osvojivši Oscara u kategoriji najboljeg glumca za film „The Whale“. Veliki uspjeh ostvario je i njemačka ratna drama „All Quiet At The Western Front“ Jamesa Frienda koja je osvojila Oscara u kategorijama za najbolji međunarodni film, najbolju fotografiju, najbolju glazbu (original score) i najbolju scenografiju. Večer su također obilježila dva nastupa: Rihanna koja je izvela pjesmu „Lift Me Up“ iz filma „Black Panther: Wakanda Forever“ te Lady GaGa koja je skinuvši šminku i glamuroznu toaletu, odradila emotivni nastup s pjesmom „Hold My Hand“ iz filma „Tom Gun: Maverick“.
